Our Holiday Home
The Cornflowers Holiday Home is a generously proportioned old stone farmhouse that has been tastefully renovated by the current owners and offers spacious holiday accommodation on two levels.
A new kitchen, bathroom and shower room have all been fitted in recent years and the house has a modern relaxed feeling.
The outside space is fantastic - not overlooked by neighbours, and a sun trap in the summer. The covered veranda provides some welcome shelter from the sun, and is a great place to relax at the end of a hectic day of site seeing with a BBQ and a glass or two of the local wine.

An ideal holiday home for an extended family break or two families holidaying together. The children will love the heated pool, and the parents can relax knowing their children are safe in the enclosed garden.
Internet access (free & secure) is available on the ground floor of this house for those who want to bring a laptop or smart phone.
The Ground Floor at The Cornflowers
The house is entered via the blue painted half glazed door which leads on to the wide hallway with wooden staircase to the first floor. In the hallway there is a long sideboard, with lots of toys and games and a bookcase full of holiday reading books for adults and children.
The large, cool living room has original beams on show and there is a tiled floor throughout. There are 2 comfortable large leather sofas and a wood burner for the cooler winter months. There is a new flatscreen TV with UK and French channels available (Free to air satellite channels), plus DVD player and DVDs, Wii console and games (there are 2 handsets, so bring more with you if you all want to play!).

New for 2017 - a games room / TV lounge has been built to one side of the hallway in what used to be a storeroom. It is now a bright area in which to relax - play a few board games or use the Wii or PS4. There are toys for all ages, plus lots of books and DVDs for your amusement.
The kitchen leads on from the lounge, with a large breakfast bar dividing the two rooms. There is a 5 burner gas hob and double electric oven, along with a built in dishwasher, wine fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery for all guests, as well as a large cupboard full of glasses. There are also lots of plastic utensils for young children.
The dining area is in a separate alcove, with a large table and chairs for eight guests.

The Garden & Pool Area
The garden is secluded and is mostly laid to lawns. A large set of wooden gates open out on to the cul-de-sac and there is a gravelled area inside the gates where you can park your car(s). The house is located towards the end of the cul-de-sac, so there is very little passing traffic, and there is also a further three parking spaces on the outside of the garden along the roadside.
The pool is heated from May until the end of September each year and is 10m x 4m in size and 1m to 2m in depth. There are steps at one end of the pool, and a roll out pool cover for when the pool is not in use. There is a selection of sun loungers for relaxing around the pool.
In front of the house is a covered veranda with a large patio table and 8 chairs. There is a built in BBQ nearby and the veranda has patio lights for extending your dining into the late evening. In summer, the nights stay quite light until nearly 11pm, and the weather is still warm enough to sit out until late.
The Cornflowers Holiday Home is open from Mid-April until the end of September each year and well-behaved dogs will be accepted.
The Cornflowers Holiday Home is located in the small hamlet of L'Oulerie and is set at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there is very little passing traffic. Surrounding the hamlet are fields of wild flowers, corn and sunflowers - a very beautiful sight in spring and summer.
The hamlet of L'Oulerie is part of the village of Lairoux, which is famous for its Marais Communal - the local wetlands - which attracts many species of migratory birds during the cooler months - a great area for country walks or cycle rides, with many birds and other local flora and fauna to be seen.
